“LIEBEL Weighing and Grading technologies” was personally founded by Mr. Dieter Liebel in 1985. The origins of the company were based on the construction and sale of checkweighers used for automated in-line weight control of baking forms for the baking industry. In the early years LIEBEL developed a checkweigher especially for the automatic control of dough filling machines. With this system the average weight of baking products could be optimized, resulting in considerable product savings. LIEBEL was the first company to tackle this problem for the baking industry. As a result of this development LIEBEL constructed a tare/gross checkweigher, which still forms part of the LWS-1400 checkweigher range marketed successfully today. Since 1985 much of the German baking industry has been using LIEBEL systems for weight control within their bread and cake productions.

In 1989 LIEBEL started newly with the development of grading and equalizing machinery specially made to the requirements of the food industry. With the USS and UES grading and equalizing systems, which were based on a newly developed software combined with reliable weighing and sorting technology, LIEBEL was soon able to acquire important clients within the fish-, meat- and cheese industry. Additionally a special equalizing machine for price-labeled and packaged fruit (i.e. bananas) was successfully marketed to the fruit-industry.

LIEBEL completed its product assortment with the introduction of a weighfilling machine in the year 2000. On the basis of an adaptive and self learning control-system the LDS weighfilling line was developed. Weighfillers of this type are being used for automatic weight-dependent filling with free-flowing products in the pharmaceutical, food and non-food industry.

Today “LIEBEL Weighing and Grading Technologies” offers a broad and well defined machine program in the area of checkweighing, grading, equalizing and weighfilling. Based on many years of market experience LIEBEL nowadays offers its know-how in the form of numerous standard systems as well as many special solutions made to the requirements of each individual client.
